Flowers Make the Day
Flowers are the classic way to kick off Valentine’s Day by showing someone how much you care. Whether you choose a single rose, a beautiful bouquet of mixed flowers, a dozen roses, or a unique arrangement, flowers are always the perfect gift for this occasion. So, this Valentine’s Day, don’t forget to surprise your loved one with a special bouquet from one of our favorite florists. Here are five great options for a local florist.
- A Flower Girl’s Dream is located on Weber Street in Downtown Colorado Springs.
- Bloom Bar & Co. It is located in 205 West Rockrimmon Boulevard #A, Colorado Springs.
- Sweetwater Flower Market has two locations, one in Northgate and another in Old Colorado City.
- Enchanted Florist is located on 2nd Street in downtown Monument.
- Platte Floral is located on Platte Avenue in Downtown Colorado Springs and has been locally owned for over 70 years.




All of these florists have arrangements specifically for Valentine’s Day but make sure you get your order in early so you don’t miss out on that perfect floral gift.
Restaurants for Valentine’s Day
We’ve divided the restaurants into different categories: formal, steakhouses, fondue, entertaining, and dessert. So, whatever type of restaurant you prefer, you’ll be able to find the best restaurants for your Valentine’s Day celebration!
Formal
If you’re looking for a special, formal night out on Valentine’s Day, these three restaurants are the classic go-to establishments when you’re looking for an impressive experience.
Look no further than these celebrated Colorado Springs restaurants for a special dress-up evening on Valentine’s Day.
- The Peppertree is well-known for its pepper steak prepared tableside and expansive views of downtown Colorado Springs.
- Carlos’ Bistro is also a great choice, where you can expect excellent food and service; as the owner, Carlos oversees every detail. Reserve your spot early, as these restaurants fill up quickly
- The Marigold Café falls in between formal restaurants and casual dining. Located in the northwest part of Colorado Springs. This restaurant has a comfortable neighborhood feel with delicious meals and excellent service. Additionally, their baked goods and pastries are very popular.
- Joseph’s Fine Dining is a less formal experience than the restaurants mentioned above. Like the Marigold Café, Joseph’s has a neighborhood feel, and both food and service are excellent.
- The Broadmoor Hotel is one of the Pikes Peak region’s most notable hotels and a local favorite for a romantic weekend. Its elegant grounds provide the perfect backdrop for your special occasion. When it comes to dining, The Broadmoor falls into a unique category because of the variety of restaurants they offer, from formal to casual. Whether you’re looking for an indulgent five-course meal or a more relaxed atmosphere, you’re sure find the perfect spot to celebrate this special night.




Two more restaurants are not easy to pigeonhole, but the food is certainly at or above the level of some of the more formal locations we’ve talked about here.
- Ephemera – Located in the upper level of “Coati Uprising,” Ephemera refers to their dining experience as Punk Rock fine dining. Their menu is creative and adventurous, and this place is a foodie favorite.
- Rabbit Hole – Located underground, you enter the Rabbit Hole through what appears to be a Subway terminal entrance. Once inside, the atmosphere is edgy but comfortable, the food is Upscale New American Cuisine, the drinks are innovative, and the service is excellent.
Fondue
We don’t seem to be able to figure out why it is such a tradition for Valentine’s Day, but it is, so here are our favorite places for it.
- The Melting Pot – With its underground location and cozy atmosphere, It is a perfect spot for couples to share a romantic evening or for friends and families to have a blast. Enjoy a delicious fondue meal with all your favorite dippable’s (is that a word?)
- Mona Lisa fondue is located in the heart of Manitou Springs, and just like Manitou Springs is a little different than the rest of the area. This place is full of charm and character in the food is great. The staff is friendly, taking time to explain menu items and make recommendations.




Steakhouses
A traditional steakhouse is a great place to celebrate Valentine’s Day. From the warm, inviting atmosphere to the delicious steaks, it’s the perfect spot for a romantic dinner.
Two of Colorado Springs’ classic favorites are both located downtown and consistently on our recommendations list.
- The Famous Steakhouse – This upscale steak house and lounge is located in the center of downtown. Spoil yourself with an exquisite steakhouse experience. Enjoy prime steaks, exquisite seafood, select wines, and a captivating piano bar, all of which create a luxurious ambiance.
- MacKenzie’s Chophouse – Since 1997, MacKenzies has been a Colorado Springs favorite for an exquisite dining experience. This restaurant is the ultimate Valentine’s setting, with impeccable service and delectable steaks paired with expertly crafted martinis and fresh seafood dishes.




Two newcomers in the Steakhouse category provide a classic steakhouse experience to patrons on the north and south ends of Colorado Springs.
- Prime 25 – A modern steakhouse located south of downtown with valet parking, warm decor, and copper and wood accents. This restaurant offers U.S.-sourced prime-aged beef and other high-quality selections, fresh seafood, and knowledgeable staff versed in wines and champagnes to elevate the dining experience further.
- Cowboy Star – Located in the University Village shopping center off of N Nevada Ave. Cowboy Star Restaurant and Butcher Shop is Colorado Springs’ first steakhouse to offer a unique Neighborhood Fine Dining experience by melding contemporary American fare with a dash of western flair.
Teppan Grill, Sushi, or Hibachi-Style
Are you looking for something more entertaining, like watching someone cook for you? Try a teppan grill, sushi, or hibachi-style restaurant. Here are our favorites.
- AI Sushi and Grill – With 2 locations around town, AI is a Colorado Springs favorite. They offer tempura, teriyaki, rice bowls, and hibachi dishes.
- Kura Japanese – A Briargate favorite offers an impressive array of sushi and sashimi selections, savory tempura, bento boxes, and more. Guests enjoy classic sushi or try creative new rolls. At their Teppanyaki Grill restaurant, experienced chefs will dazzle diners with their skillfulness before elegantly serving up delectable dishes.,
- Jun Japanese Restaurant – With two locations on the west side, and northeast Colorado Springs, Jun has served top-quality Japanese cuisine in Colorado Springs for over 30 years and has been recognized by patrons for their excellence.
- Fuji Mountain – For those that live on the north end of the Springs, or Monument, Fuji Mountain is located in Monument, Colorado.
- Sushi Ato – A full-service Japanese restaurant with an All-star sushi bar located in the Northgate part of Colorado Springs. The restaurant offers an extensive array of Japanese fare, which diners can enjoy along with Japanese beers and sake. You’ll especially enjoy a remarkable view of the Air Force Academy and the front range.




Dessert
A great way to wrap up your Valentine’s Day celebration is with dessert. From decadent pastries to creamy ice cream, you’ll find a variety of delicious treats to satisfy your sweet tooth. - Munchies719 is a new restaurant opening in the old Michelle’s chocolate building on Tejon Street in downtown Colorado Springs. Munchies719 is hosting a unique Valentines Day event featuring delectable cocktails crafted to accompany scrumptious desserts created in house by their bakery and kitchen.
- Smallcakes Cupcakery – Located on N. Academy Blvd. Smallcakes bakes 12 fresh unique flavors daily, plus custom creations for special occasions.
- Marigold Cafe and Bakery – is a French-inspired restaurant known for gourmet dishes and fresh-baked desserts. It recently expanded with Marigold & Go, a quick-service spot for breakfast and lunch.
