    The Northgate area of Colorado Springs is a large area located near the Air Force Academy directly south of TriLakes / Monument, CO. The area covers approximately 54 square miles and is at an average elevation of 6900 feet in elevation. The Northgate area is named because of the proximity to the north entrance to the Air Force Academy. This area's retail business has grown recently with the addition of a large Bass Pro Shops center and the Interquest Movie Theater and Great Wolf Lodge complexes.
