The Skyway neighborhood in Colorado Springs is located in the Southwest part of Colorado Springs nestled up to the hills of the Front Range. Skyway is generally split up into two parts. Lower Skyway has older style homes built in the 1960s near Bear Creek Park. Upper Skyway or Top of Skyway has newer homes in the steeper part of the area west of Lower Skyway. The Skyway neighborhood is bordered on the north by Bear Creek Park, to the east by 8th Street and to the south by North Cheyenne Canon Park and to the west lies Gold Camp Road and the National Forest. Views are abundant from homes in this area both of the mountains and east to the city below.
Skyway homes for sale are located in the Cheyenne Mountain #12 attendance area. Gold Camp Elementary School is located directly in the neighborhood and Cheyenne Mountain High School is located at the southern edge of the neighborhood.
Homes for sale in Skyway average $125 per square feet and homes in this area average 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms and 2,600 square feet. Homes in this area vary greatly in age with many homes in Lower Skyway built in the 50s and 60s and many of the homes in Upper Skyway built in the late 90s and early 2000s. There are still a few lots left in the neighborhood, so an occasional new build can be found here.
Homes for Sale in other areas of the Southwest Colorado Springs (Broadmoor area) tend to be single family homes on larger lots, with smaller and more affordable homes in the eastern part of the area closer to Ft. Carson army base.
Many homes for sale have fantastic Pikes Peak or front range views and the homes in the hills behind the Broadmoor Hotel have amazing city views as well.Â
