The Northeast area of Colorado Springs is north of downtown and south of Briargate. The area covers approximately 20 square miles and is at an average elevation of 6500 feet in elevation. The Northgate area is home to the quickly growing University of Colorado at Colorado Springs and has seen a boom in commercial development of restaurants and shopping along the North Nevada corridor. Average highs in the winter are in the upper 30's with average lows dropping down to 15-20 degrees. Summertime temperatures average 80-83 degrees with the lows in the 50s.
