Banning Lewis Ranch

Marksheffel is a large, mostly undeveloped part of northeast El Paso County. It is currently under development as the Banning Lewis Ranch. This is a huge master-planned community that will occupy most of the entire Marksheffel area.

Banning Lewis Ranch already has a strong infrastructure in place with a large community center, pool and school in place with MUCH more to come.

The area extends from Woodmen Rd. on the north to Constitution Ave. on the south and Marksheffel Rd. on the west and Highway 24 on the east.

This area is close to Peterson Field and the Colorado Springs Airport. This is an exciting area from a growth standpoint. The developers have an aggressive plan in place and are looking to create a very strong community. This is a great choice is you are looking for a new home in a new community.

Banning Lewis Ranch is located east of Colorado Springs and north of the Colorado Springs Airport. The area is still under development.

Raymond W. Lewis and Ruth Banning Lewis acquired more than 30,000 acres east of Colorado Springs for cattle ranching. Parts of the ranch have been sold off for development and now it is one of the fastest growing areas of Colorado Springs.

Students living in Banning Lewis Ranch attend Falcon School District 49. The area has a newly built school the Banning Lewis Ranch Academy that is located in the neighborhood.

Banning Lewis Ranch is located approximately 15 miles north and east from downtown Colorado Springs. It is typically a 20-30 minute drive from downtown Colorado Springs to most areas in the Banning Lewis Ranch.

The first plans for development showed up to 175,000 residents, but is currently far from complete. Schools, community centers are all now part of the community with more homes and commercial businesses on the way.
