Falcon, Colorado is really two different areas. First, there is the traditional rural Falcon. Secondly is the newer Suburban Falcon. For many from the traditional rural side of Falcon don’t like all this growth and development makes living in the area much more convenient. Rural Falcon consists mostly to the East Of Highway 24. Lot sizes in this area start at 5 Acres and go up to 35 and more. The Suburban side of Falcon consists of two primary areas Woodmen Hills and Meridian Ranch. For the purposes of our local lineup, we combined choices from the best of both areas for our favorite things to do in Falcon Colorado.
Things to do Outdoors in Falcon CO
The Antler Creek Golf Course is a daily fee golf course located in Falcon, Colorado. The course offers six sets of tees providing challenge and enjoyment for any caliber of golfer. Antler Creek is a Rick Phelps-designed course that opened in 2004. The course has wide fairways winding through the communities of Woodmen Hills and Meridian Ranch. This course is a “prairie dunes style” course and measures just over 8,000 yards tip to tip, making it the longest golf course in the State of Colorado.
Best Food in Falcon Colorado
Burrito Grande – When you show houses for a living, you learn where to find the best food, and Burrito Grande is a favorite for our entire office. This place is tucked away in the Safeway shopping center at the corner of Woodmen and Highway 24. While the menu offers standard Mexican fare, it’s the ingredients and service that set this place apart. The Green Chilie is a personal favorite. If you’re in Falcon, you have to check this place out.
Drinks in Falcon
The Purple Toad Social Tap & Grill is our choice for drinks. This place has an extensive list of domestic, import, and craft beers but the cocktail menu is the attraction here. From the old standbys like The Moscow Mule to a crazy assortment of Martinis and Margaritas the Purple toad does not disappoint in the cocktail category.
The food menu is great as well with everything from traditional bar food like Potato Skins and Chicken Wings to an assortment of Salads, Wraps, and Sandwiches. This is a great place to bring the entire family for lunch or dinner or just come to watch a game.
Pets in Falcon Colorado
Bartlett Hay is 100%, Rural Falcon. Located in Falcon since the 80s, this place offers a wide range of tack and feed. It’s a great place to come for hay as well. Once you walk through the doors it’s obvious these people support their community. The walls are plastered with pictures, banners, and awards from livestock and 4-H contests going back for years. Falcon has grown up around Bartlett but they haven’t changed much over the years. If you have animals, this is a great place to have in the neighborhood, they are friendly and knowledgeable.
Things to do with Family in Falcon Colorado
The Pikes Peak Library District is a great asset to the entire Pikes Peak Region and the High Prairie Branch is no exception, This library offers the popular Outdoor Stroll-a-story series as well as the Maker in Residence program. The library has outdoor picnic tables which are a great place to enjoy a little lunch and a story. This library offers all kinds of challenges for the kids, especially throughout the summer months, if you have kids, you will love this library.
