The Countryside Neighborhood is located in the southeast corner of the city of Fountain, Colorado, in the 80817 zip code. As the name suggests, the countryside neighborhood is at the edge of rural Fountain in southern El Paso County this makes it a great place for nature lovers.
This neighborhood consists of nearly 1,400 homes and offers a range of housing types from smallish townhomes to larger single-family real estate. Single-family homes in the countryside subdivision average 2,005 square feet in size, the average lot size is .18 acres, and the average year built is 1998. Countryside homes offer a traditional home in a quiet neighborhood, just outside city limits.
There are four subareas within the Countryside community: Countryside, Countryside West, Countryside North, and Countryside townhomes. Construction began in the first Countryside filing back in 1985 and continued through Countryside West in the early 2000s. Countryside North is the newest filing, construction in this area started late in 2005 and continued until 2015. Finally, the countryside townhomes were built between 2004 and 2008.

Local schools for this neighborhood are in one of the more popular school districts, Fountain-Fort Carson District 8. These public schools are a short walk from the Countryside neighborhood, the high school is actually surrounded by the subdivision, as is Jordahl Elementary school. The high school is home to the Fountain-Fort Carson Stadium, Tennis Courts, and ball fields.
If you’re looking for a charter or private school, Fountain has those as well. The Fountain Valley School of Colorado is located a short drive from the Countryside neighborhood.
While the Countryside neighborhood doesn’t have any notable parks within the community, it is very close proximity to John Metcalfe Memorial Park. This park offers baseball fields, a skate park, The Metcalfe Hondo Memorial Doggie Park, walking trails, and is home to the Fountain Riding and Roping Club. Additionally, the park offers a large pavilion, ideal for a summertime picnic, and offers perfect summer shade.
While there aren’t a lot of amenities located directly in the Countryside neighborhood, there are plenty of restaurants, shopping, and retail just a short drive from the neighborhood. The City of Fountain has seen a lot of growth and development in the commercial, and retail space over the past couple of years.
