    Fountain Colorado is located in the south-eastern part of El Paso County and was named for Fountain Creek. Fountain is conveniently located close to the Colorado Springs Airport and Ft. Carson and Peterson military bases. Covering approximately 50 square miles, this area has an average elevation of 5800 feet which makes for temperate weather most of the year.

    Students in Fountain either attend the D3 Widefield school district or D8 Fountain-Fort Carson School District. The Widefield School District covers residences in the northern region of the Fountain MLS area, while students in the central and southern part of Fountain attend the Fountain-Fort Carson School District. This area is home to the Fountain Valley School, a well-known private school.

    The weather in the Fountain area tends to be a little more temperate than in other parts of the Colorado Springs area due to its lower elevation.
