Chipita ParkĀ is anĀ unincorporated community located in El Paso County, west of Colorado Springs. People of the area sometimes use the town names of Chipita Park and Cascade interchangeably. Mail can be addressed to either city, as the census refers to it as Cascade-Chipita Park, Colorado. Originally known as Ute Park, the town was renamed to Chipita Park in the mid 1900ās after Chief Ourayās wife, Chipeta. In the late 1800s, the Ute Hotel was opened with summer cottages and a lake for summer visitors. The area has grown since that time, but still retains its small town feel. The population was 1,655 at the 2010 census.
Many people in the area are familiar with Chipita Park as they pass through the area on the way to Woodland Park or into the mountains. One favorite local business does require a special stop. Santa’s Workshop is located at the base of Pikes Peak and is open year-round. This Christmas themed family amusement park that has been in existence since 1956 and has 25 rides, shows and other attractions.

Students living in this area are located in the Manitou Springs #14 attendance area. Ute Pass Elementary school is located in this area but secondary students are bused to Manitou Springs. This is a great area to buy a house if you are looking for a mountain feel with some great privacy and aspects rural living. In the recent years, some newer larger homes have been built taking advantage of the beautiful scenery and stunning wildlife. Other neighborhoods in the Ute Pass area include Cascade, Green Mountain Falls and Pikes Peak Estates. Traveling further west, Woodland Park offers a larger town with a wider variety of homes for sale
