Southwest or the Broadmoor area of Colorado Springs is located in the southwest corner of El Paso County. This area is south of Downtown Colorado Springs and west of I-25 and borders the front range near Norad and Cheyenne Mountain. This area is conveniently located new Ft. The Southwest or Broadmoor area of Colorado Springs is home to 2 school districts. On the eastern edge is Harrison School District #2 closer to downtown and Ft. Carson. Harrison School District D2 has 13 elementary schools, 3 middle schools, and 2 main high schools. The western part of the Southwest (Broadmoor) area is home to Cheyenne Mountain School District #12. This district has 5 elementary schools as well as Cheyenne Mountain Middle School, Cheyenne Mountain High School, and The Vanguard School. Additionally, the Colorado Springs School, a private school, is located in the area.

The weather in Southwest Colorado Springs tends to be a little more temperate than in other parts of the Colorado Springs area due to its lower elevation. Average highs in the winter are in the mid 40’s with average lows dropping down to 18-20 degrees. Summertime temperatures average 80-85 degrees with the lows in the upper 50s. Cheyenne Canon and Cheyenne Mountain State Park are a big draw for hikers, and campers and the weather will keep you outside all year long.
