If you are still recovering from the school year and don't realize we are well into summer, you may be shocked to hear that the 4th of July is right around the corner. Have no fear, the Springs Homes team has gotten together to give you some things to do for 4th of July in Colorado Springs.
This year the holiday falls on Saturday, so happy 3-day weekend to you! Get out and enjoy some Colorado summer sunshine and celebrate this festive holiday with safety and good health habits.
This year our traditional events at Memorial Park Celebration and the TriLakes/Monument Parade and festivities are not occurring, but instead, fireworks will be displayed from 10 different locations throughout the city to spread out the crowds.
Along with fireworks there will be a patriotic concert that Colorado Springs' residents can enjoy right from their own front porch this year and tuning into their radios to Sunny 106.3 FM , Y96.9 FM, KCME 88.7 FM, 92.9 Peak FM, or AM 740 KVOR to hear the full broadcast.
What a great idea!
Here are the locations of this year's around town display:
● Banning Lewis Ranch
● Falcon Freedom Days at Meridian Ranch
● James Irwin Charter Schools
● Patty Jewett Golf Course
● The Club at Flying Horse
● Colorado Springs Switchbacks FC at Weidner Field
● The Country Club of Colorado at Cheyenne Mountain Resort
● Fort Carson

Not to be a party-pooper, but here is a little reminder that recreational fireworks are illegal in Colorado Springs and some outlying areas. That includes all fireworks with a fuse or that require a flame to ignite, according to City of Colorado Springs. Novelty items like snappers and poppers are allowed. For more information visit https://coloradosprings.gov/fireworks.
In addition, the El Paso County restrict both unlawful fireworks and well as permissible fireworks in the incorporated cities to include Colorado Springs, Monument, Fountain, and Manitou Springs, as well as all United States Forest Service Lands. Check here for more info.
